Estra S.p.A. finalised the acquisition of 100% interest in Metania S.r.l., a company operating in the electricity and natural gas sales sector, and Melfi Reti Gas S.r.l., a natural gas distribution operator, from the Alexa Group (owned by Melfi family). “Thanks to this transaction, Estra is forging ahead its organic and non-organic growth process within the local area strengthening its presence in Italy’s central and southern regions, particularly in Molise, Campania and Abruzzo” stated Francesco Macrì, Chairman of Estra. “As a result of these acquisitions, Estra has become a leading energy company in the Molise region.” In 2017, Metania S.r.l. sold 19 million m3 methane gas and 16 GWh electricity, with total sales of €12 million in 2017. It can boast a portfolio of approximately 22,000 clients within the natural gas sector and clients in the electricity industry, mainly in the Molise, Campania, Lazio and Abruzzo regions, in addition to four local operating branches. Melfi Reti Gas S.r.l. reported sales of approximately €2.3 million in 2017. It operates in the natural gas distribution sector through about 16,000 redelivery points and a 580km network in the minimal territorial districts (ATEM) of the Campobasso, Isernia and L’Aquila municipalities, where it supplied about 19 million m 3 natural gas in 2017.
