Centria S.r.l., an Estra Group company that distributes natural gas and sells and distributes LPG, has purchased the natural gas distribution business of 2i Rete Gas in the Foggia 1-North and Bari 2-South Minimum Geographical Areas (ATEMs).

Centria was selected as the acquirer on the basis of the binding bid it submitted within the framework of the sales procedure launched by 2i Rete Gas in recent months.

The deal will allow the Estra Group to manage approximately 544 km of distribution network (302 km in Bari 2 and 242 km in Foggia 1), for a total of 66,614 redelivery points (RPs), of which 40,763 in the Bari 2 area and 25,851 in the Foggia 1 area.

In further detail, the Bari 2 ATEM business unit holds the concessions for the distribution service in the municipalities of Conversano, Putignano, Rutigliano, Triggiano and Valenzano, with a staff of 20 employees, whereas the concessions for the Foggia 1 ATEM refer to the municipalities of Chieuti, Lesina, San Severo, Serracapriola and Torremaggiore, for a total staff of 13 employees.

Through this acquisition, Estra continues its expansion into central and southern Italy, following its recent acquisition of Metania and Melfi Rete Gas in Molise.

“We are proud to provide these communities with our expertise in natural gas distribution and to contribute to the development of Puglia, a modern region of high strategic value with considerable growth potential that is playing a leading role in the development of southern Italy,” stated Francesco Macrì, Estra's Chairman.
