Estra S.p.A. has acquired 100% of Ecolat S.r.l., an environmental services and waste management company based in Tuscany. It had bought 12% of the company in August 2018 and with the agreement signed yesterday Estra became the company’s sole shareholder.
Ecolat S.r.l., which holds an interest in Sei Toscana S.r.l., owns a sorting and processing facility for waste originating from multi-material separated collection by municipalities in the provinces of Grosseto, Arezzo, Prato and Florence. In this same area, it also manages a collection centre located in the Municipality of Grosseto, in addition to a recoverable urban waste storage platform.
With this acquisition Estra is now a fully-fledged shareholder of SEI Toscana S.r.l. (the company managing the integrated ecological services in Southern Tuscany).
The acquisition of the full interest in Ecolat allows Estra to further strengthen its position in the integrated waste management cycle, which is strategic to the Group's growth and reinforcement in view of the expansion of its role as a multiutility.
